- Serves as the company’s subject matter expert on water treatment application issues, industry relevant regulatory changes, market participants, and competitive technology landscape in the markets the company serves.
- Demonstrate the effectiveness / capabilities / application of company products to prospects, current customers, and distributors.
- Translates customer needs into growth projects using Voice of the Customer information.
- Demonstrate safe handling of products and best practices amongst customers.
- Develop scientific data and presentations for product applications in conjunction with the Sales, Business Development and Technical teams.
- In conjunction with the Sales Team schedule and conduct technically successful plant trials, surveys, and on-site lab/plant studies, which include appropriate customer reporting, consultation, and conversion of sales prospects to customers.
- Support the commercialization of new products with the sales/technical support needed to develop and sell these new products to the marketplace.
- Provides excellent customer service by collaborating diligently and expeditiously with customer, and customer service daily.
- Evaluate, assess, and build an understanding of technical issues and trends to provide/disprove key assumptions that advance proposed business lines toward first revenue.
- Conduct site surveys, which may include background information collection on facility settings, bench scale laboratory evaluations of product effectiveness / performance, trial feed equipment recommendations, and establish objectives and chemical dosages for new plant scale evaluations or customer in-use dosage optimization.
- Recommends potential growth initiatives based on market trends and insights, as well as customer discovery including determining the best path for specific initiatives.
- Conduct plant trials, which often includes installation and calibration of test trial feed equipment, set up control program, monitor chemical feed, optimize treatment, and monitor treatment results. Collect and analyze data and recommend the most appropriate treatment scenario.
- Train customers, as needed, in equipment operation and product safety and handling.
- Helps in development of commercialization plans and materials and provides training and coaching to sales team in preparation for new application launches.
- Provides technical assistance for internal personnel and external customers / distributors related to products, feed equipment, application issues or product specifications and quality, safety and handling.
- Document and communicate customer feedback and activity through call reports, CRM, and any other appropriate communication support.
- Actively contribute to the development of case studies.
- Identify/provide new opportunities while demonstrating current applications.
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
- Increase market intelligence through attendance of trade shows and technical conferences, fostering customer relationships, professional associations, literature and social media.

- A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or Environmental Field) is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in water treatment is preferred.
- Experience with wet chemistry lab techniques is required.
- Experience in permanganate and phosphate applications is a plus.
