Controller
Salary: 120,000 to 145,000 annually, plus bonus
A well-established metal component manufacturer near Binghamton, NY is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its financial operations. With more than 70 years in business and a growing footprint across multiple industries including aerospace, automotive, and defense, this company offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute at a senior leadership level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial activities including planning, reporting, and budgeting
- Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely reporting
- Supervise Accounting, HR, and IT departments
- Serve as primary contact for banks, auditors, consultants, and legal partners
- Analyze financial performance, variances, and cost-saving opportunities
- Lead annual budgets, reforecasts, and multi-year projections
- Support strategic initiatives, including CapEx, ROI analysis, and M&A evaluations
- Ensure GAAP compliance and accurate inventory valuation
- Manage cash flow forecasts and internal controls
- Improve ERP functionality for better reporting and efficiency
- Provide timely reports to executives and the board
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a Controller or CFO role within a company generating over 25 million in revenue
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
