Ballpark Operations Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ballpark Operations Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the management and execution of events at Coors Field, including Colorado Rockies home games and special events. This position provides hands-on experience in stadium operations, guest services, and event logistics. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to the game-day experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of Coors Field’s Lost & Found, including logging and tracking lost items, responding to guest inquiries, and coordinating item returns.
- Produce and distribute Guest Passes on game days.
- Assist with guest and event service correspondence, including responding to inquiries and maintaining records.
- Support the Event Service team with scheduling, badge production, and employee training sessions.
- Assist with organizing and distributing employee incentives, such as Employee of the Month, Outstanding Service Awards, and treat days.
- Support the Stadium Operations team from an administrative perspective by drafting documents or filling in forms for distribution.
- Maintain the front desk and mailroom operations, assisting as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of Event Service computers and staff areas.
- Monitor and replenish printed materials, including Contact Cards, A-Z Guides, Handbooks, and other guest information resources.
- Assist with staff wardrobe management, ensuring uniforms and materials are properly tracked and distributed.
- Perform physical setup and breakdown tasks for events, including moving barricades, signage, and other operational equipment.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support event operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete all assigned tasks with limited supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, split shifts and evenings.
- Commitment to working from March 1 through October 31, including all Rockies home games and post-homestand workdays.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to properly lift, carry, and transport boxes, barricades, stanchions, or other event-related equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per shift), including navigating stairs and various stadium areas.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform manual event setup and operations tasks.
- Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- Ability to work split shifts and extended hours as the event schedule requires.
- Ability to maintain focus on tasks and follow through to completion.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position follows a varied work schedule and requires availability for:
- All Colorado Rockies home games and select special events.
- Post-homestand duties on the day following the final game.
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of regular operations.
COMPENSATION & BENFITS:
$18.81 per hour
