The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, journal entries, accounts payable / receivable, reconciliations, corporate reporting, and payroll. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting functions while providing leadership to the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and support the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Invoice Reconciliation teams
Oversee daily closing, reconciliation, and cash requirements processes
Prepare and post month-end adjusting entries for financial close
Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts monthly, including all intercompany transactions
Prepare and submit Alcohol Excise Tax Reports
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and year-end) in accordance with GAAP
Supervise the workflow of a five-person accounting team
Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting-related issues
Partner with IT to address technology needs of the accounting department
Manage staffing needs, including recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluations
Work with internal and external accountants for year-end close and audits
Develop the annual accounting department budget and conduct monthly variance analysis
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Relevant work experience in accounting or financial management
Strong leadership and management experience
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer
Occasional standing or walking to retrieve documents
Proficient typing and mouse usage for data entry and analysis
Clear vision (with or without prescription lenses) for prolonged screen work
Clear hearing (with or without aids) for in-person, phone, and virtual communication
