What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sculling Camp Waterfront Manager position at Craftsbury Outdoor Center?
The waterfront manager is a seasonal position between May and October with general responsibilities of: supporting sculling camp program logistics, supporting guest coaching staff, supervising sculling camp interns, and directly serving the camp attendees with sculling equipment. This is a “coach-adjacent” position, not involving on-water sculling coaching, but certainly requiring elements of sculling instruction, rower support, and public speaking. The work schedule is intensive, but this position has no responsibilities outside of camp hours for training, recreation, etc.
Position requirements:
Experience with sculling and sculling equipment
Hold (or attain by start date) a Boater Safety Card and CPR/First Aid certifications
Be available for 20 camps per the summer camp schedule
Able to walk 6-7 miles per day around the docks and campus, and carry up to 50lbs
Preferred: Prior Craftsbury experience (coach, intern, camper), collegiate rowing experience (coach and/or rower), and/or other coaching or boathouse management experience
