Pediatric Home Service is a leader in home health care, we are committed to taking care of the child! Since 1987, we’ve specialized in delivering private duty nursing services, home medical equipment, clinical respiratory care, enteral nutrition, and more. We’re currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team as a Clinical Authorization Coordinator.

- Position: Authorization Coordinator - Clinical
- Location: Richardson, TX
- Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours/week
- Requirements: Must be an RN or LVN licensed in good standing with applicable state board of nursing
- Monitors, submits and follows up on all initial and subsequent authorizations through established processes
- Uses clinical judgement, chart review and partnership with clinical team to determine appropriate hours and service level required
- Uses charting and medical history review to verify and confirm supporting documentation for authorization of private duty nursing at appropriate level
- Prepares all required documentation for clinical team to complete according to branch-specific deadlines
- Collects, reviews and submits accurate clinical and administrative documentation to payers prior to expiration dates
- Monitors auth expiration dates; including primary, secondary and tertiary auths when applicable
- Submits and follows up on any appeals that are the result of a denied authorization
- Coordinates with referring or primary physicians to obtain orders, signatures, or participate in peer-to-peer reviews
- Current LVN or RN license in good standing with the applicable state board of nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
