Position Summary:
The Database Manager supports and enhances fundraising and development activities through database and software administration, training, and data coordination. This includes database infrastructure and integrity, reporting, routine data processing, and related support. The Manager is responsible for data entry, data integrity, implementing new system features and enhancements, fulfilling data requests, reporting, training users and backup gift processing. The Manager completes annual processes such as state registration renewals and Enterprise Zone tax credits.
Position Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification/Registrations: None
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent education and experience and/or certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience with increasing responsibility for the operations related to a development or foundation office. Advanced experience with Raisers' Edge database and working knowledge of Financial Edge is preferred. Previous experience mentoring and training co-workers is preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in database administration, data imports and exports, and developing complex reports. Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Knowledge of applicable tax laws, fundraising principles, methods, procedures, and legal compliance standards. The ability to work collaboratively and successfully as a member of a team as well as independently. Comfort and effectiveness translating staff needs and requests into accurate queries and reports. The ability to organize, prioritize, be proactive, take initiative, think critically, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple projects to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. The ability to relate to persons of all ages and diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities. The ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Ability to present self in a personable and professional manner. Raiser's Edge administration experience is strongly preferred. Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies. Ability to display a passion for the mission of Craig Hospital. Expected to utilize most primary office software packages, including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for generating all lists used for external communications, including stewardship, solicitation, recognition and related.
- Generates routine financial reports for gift balancing and annual audit. As well as basic report requests from the Foundation team.
- Updates constituent records through imports, exports and manual entry. Creating new import profiles using Import-O-Matic is needed to import data and gifts, as well as run routine data import processes such as alumni and staff imports.
- Completes requests received through the Foundation and the internal “updates” email inboxes. Maintains data confidentiality and provides technical support for Craig Foundation’s fundraising database, Raiser’s Edge/NXT and Financial Edge.
- Collaborates with internal teammates to: integrate new coding on constituent records; capture research updates; import and export list segments and marketing codes; utilize report builder to support routine reports; update query criteria for targeted stewardship mailing lists, codes, and importing opportunities; year-end statement and enterprise zone processes.
- Creates user security levels and implements changes to security roles. Conducts software training for new employees and continued training of existing staff required to use the software. Creates resources for staff and implements new system features into fundraising operations.
- Supports routine data processes pertaining to gift acknowledgments, gift processing, donor communications, and financial reporting. Adjusting to the demands of the environment and determining new ways to streamline processes and meet deadlines.
- Coordinates data and gift work with the Gift Processing and Database Assistant.
- Manages giving and check out process for hardware technology such as iPad, credit card readers and surplus laptops.
- Ensures data integrity through regular database integrity work, monitoring and merging duplicate constituent records and monitoring for redundancy in code tables.
- Software administration and maintenance includes Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, Import-O-Matic, Luminate Online, Double the Donation and related.
- Processes gifts and acknowledgments as back up during high volume times and during extended absence of Gift Processing and Database Assistant.

Salary Range: $27.56/ Hour - $39.68/ HourSalary : $28 - $40
