Join our team as a Controller, where you'll lead financial operations, mentor a talented accounting team, and shape our strategic direction. This critical role ensures accurate financial management, compliance, and forecasting to support our long-term success and reports directly to the CEO.
What You’ll Do:
- Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare and oversee financial reports, budgets, WIP schedules, and forecasts. Monitor financial performance, job cost reviews, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to GAAP, construction-specific accounting standards (e.g., WIP and AIA billing), and all federal, state, and local tax requirements. Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management: Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and credit facilities. Collaborate with operations to address insurance and risk management needs.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial processes.
- System & Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in accounting systems and processes, leveraging tools like Sage 300 CRE and Procore for efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with leadership and department heads to align financial strategies with business objectives. Provide financial insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA preferred).
- 10 years of experience, including 5 in construction (non-residential) and 3 in leadership roles.
- Expertise in WIP schedules, GAAP, and construction accounting (AIA billing a plus).
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, strategic planning, and resource management.
- Advanced skills in Excel; Sage 300 CRE and Procore knowledge are a plus.

- Proficiency in statistical analysis, ratios, and financial forecasting.
