Responsibilities
As a Senior Litigation Paralegal, you will:
- Independently manage a large caseload, handling all phases of litigation from case initiation through trial and post-trial matters.
- Draft complex legal documents, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate discovery efforts, including managing e-discovery and document productions.
- Prepare trial exhibits, binders, and witness files; assist in courtroom preparations as needed.
- Conduct advanced legal research and summarize findings.
- Track case deadlines and ensure timely filings with state and federal courts.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors to facilitate case progress.
- Review and analyze medical records, financial documents, and other case-related materials.
- Proactively identify and resolve case issues to support attorneys and clients effectively.
Skills
- Expert proficiency in legal terminology, court procedures, and civil litigation rules.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency with legal research tools and case management software (Filevine experience preferred).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to case management.
Experience
- Required: 5 years of experience in paralegal work, with a focus on litigation.
- Preferred: Experience in personal injury litigation at a senior level.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Paralegal degree or certificate
