What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Processor position at Crane Credit Union?
Role:
To interview applicants applying for mortgage loans; to assist members through the loan application process and prepare loans for closings.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Takes residential mortgage loan applications and verifies that application data is complete and meets credit union standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment; recommends loans not meeting standards be denied.
- Documents income, debt and credit history. Requests income verification, purchase agreements, property descriptions and other required documentation for verification.
- Informs applicants of closing costs, current rates and other applicable information. Assist mortgage loan officers with member inquiries by phone or in person.
- Prepares loan application forms and sends early disclosures to members; submits mortgage loan application files for underwriting.
- Orders title work and reviews all title information for discrepancies to ensure the credit union lien position.
- Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal; informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey. Verifies all property documentation; maintains independence with appraisal rules.
- Reviews approved mortgage loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing. Prepares all closing documents, sets closing date and completes closing procedures.
- Records loan information for HMDA reporting.
- Maintains mortgage license in compliance with SAFE Act.
- Has a general working knowledge and annual training of BSA/AML.
