What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Rehab Center-Behavior Technician position at Crane Rehab Center?
We are seeking motivated individuals that are truly passionate about helping children who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our techs work 1:1 with the children and support their learning while following a behavior plan in a school setting.
Behavior technicians work under the direction and supervision of and report to a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Crane Rehab Center, LLC’s standards.
We are hiring student technicians for the following schedules (minimum 1 year commitment):
Full-Time:
- Full-Time. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:55 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., except on Wednesday, when they are 7:55 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalence.
- Louisiana Registered Line Technician Certification (Crane will assist in obtaining)
- Basic Life Support/CPR Certification (Crane Rehab will provide upon hire).
Specific Job Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail.
- Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs.
- Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility.
- Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
- Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient care, documentation and therapy software responsibilities, patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
Specific Job Requirements
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to standard ethical practices and completes all appropriate compliance training.
Essential Functions
- Implement, as directed by supervisors, individualized treatment plans in a group and individual setting.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Be familiar and follow through with all children’s behavior and therapeutic goals
- Collect data in a group and individual setting.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Participate in on-going training events.
- Prepare therapy areas prior to the start of therapy sessions.
- Sanitize and return work materials and toys to designated areas at the end of therapy sessions.
- Prepare therapy/work materials.
- Lift a child up to 50 pounds.
- Keep children safe during instances of aggression and/or self-injury and follow protocol.
- Assist children in transitions at drop off and pick up times.
- If assigned to an individual child, monitor and assist that child during all of his/her daily activities (therapy, lunch, nap, gym, etc.).
- Monitor and play with children during gym and/or outside play times.
- Assist children during lunch and snack time routines.
- Prepare children’s lunches and snacks.
- Change and dispose of diapers in designated area
- Follow toileting plan if applicable.
- Clean diaper changing area and bathroom area after child’s use.
- Monitor children during nap time, keeping them in their designated area.
Essential Functions- continued
- Send home children’s belongings including backpacks, copies of data sheets, lunch. boxes, and any other personal belongings at the end of each day.
- After therapy day make sure all items are sanitized and put away in designated area.
- Special projects as assigned.
Work Environment
- Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, etc): occasionally.
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves chemicals, lead, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements: rarely.
- Normal setting for this job is: office in outpatient clinic
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close and Far vision.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually of moderate volume.
