Crawford County Mental Health Awareness Program, Inc. (CHAPS) is seeking a part-time Housing Advocate. Duties include providing intensive case management and life skills services to persons who are experiencing homelessness or are near homeless. This position involves assisting consumers with the identification of and connection to needed community services and resources, including permanent housing.
Qualifications: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related human service field or a minimum of 2 years of experience in the human service field. Applicant must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have the ability to communicate well, orally and in writing and possess basic computer skills. Ability and willingness to work in consumer’s home, community and with other staff to provide support based on the individual needs of the consumer. Must possess the ability to set priorities and problem solve, as well as complete tasks with minimal supervision. Applicant must be trustworthy, compassionate, and empathetic.
