Crawford County Mental Health Center is taking applications for a full-time Accounting Controller. This position is responsible for processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, state and federal financial and tax reporting in a medical setting in compliance with GAAP. This position is responsible for completing annual State of Kansas Cost Report and rebasing for CCBHC purposes. The Controller is responsible for fiscal oversight to ensure agency compliance. This position prepares and presents financial reports, forecasting, and financial trend analysis to the Executive Director and Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- Experience in accounting and payroll processing required
- Experience in medical field, government, and nonprofit is a plus
- Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidential and proprietary information
- Have excellent communication skills to work will all levels of staff
- Must be detail-oriented
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing, including reconciliation of benefits and payroll accounts in the General Ledger in accordance with state and federal authorities
- Responsible for processing and maintaining Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in medical setting, accurately accounting for insurance, Medicaid, and client payments
- Responsible for Monthly and Annual Reconciliation of Cash Accounts and General Ledger
- Responsible for adjusting journal entries for compliance with GAAP
- Preparation of Financial Statements and accurate record keeping of financial operations
- Responsible for accurately completing state of Kansas Cost Report and rebasing requirements utilizing financial strategies for the most effective PPS rate for CCBHC purposes
- Preparation of annual operating budget
- Present accurate monthly financial reports, forecasting, and financial trend analysis to Executive Director and Leadership Team
- Provide fiscal oversight to ensure financial compliance of agency policies, protocols, and federal and state laws and regulations, and compliance with GAAP
- Responsible for preparation and timely filing of state and federal tax returns
- Preparation and compliance of lease purchase agreements
- Serve as liaison between agency and financial auditors
Salary range $70,000 to $80,000. Benefits package includes participation in KPERS Retirement System, paid sick and vacation, as well as health, dental, and life insurance.
