Responsibilities
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to oversee our sterile compounding laboratory and serve as our Chief Compliance Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sterile compounding, a thorough understanding of USP 795, 797, and 800 protocols, and be familiar with PCAB Accreditation. The candidate must be licensed to practice in New York, and a BCSCP (Board Certification in Sterile Compounding) certification is desired. Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Oversight: Manage daily operations of the sterile compounding laboratory. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including USP 795, 797, and 800. Oversee the preparation of sterile compounds, ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety. Compliance Coordination: Serve as the Chief Compliance Coordinator for the pharmacy. Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance with USP standards and PCAB accreditation. Team Management: Supervise and provide guidance to a team comprising one pharmacist, one graduate pharmacist awaiting licensure, and two pharmacy technicians. Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for team members. Schedule and oversee workflow to optimize efficiency and maintain high standards of service. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of sterile compounding. Address and resolve any issues related to sterile compounding processes and practices. Stay current with industry best practices and advancements in sterile compounding. Qualifications: Education: BS Pharmacy or higher (RPh or PharmD) Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in sterile compounding. Certification: BCSCP (Board Certification in Sterile Compounding) is desired. Licensure: Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of New York. Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800 protocols. Familiarity with PCAB Accreditation is preferred.
