The Manufacturing Electronics Technician is responsible for performing all electronic assembly, testing, and troubleshooting tasks related to prototype circuits and electronic components. This position ensures the efficient operation, repair, and continuous improvement of the assigned manufacturing operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and process optimization.
Role specific responsibilities
· Performs all electronic assembly and test work assigned by Group Leader in a safe, efficient manner.
· Build/test/troubleshoot prototype circuits from schematics.
· Troubleshoot printed circuit board and individual electronic components.
· Troubleshoot digital circuit problems using oscilloscope or logic analyzer.
· Troubleshoot analog circuit problems with voltmeters, curve tracers, and/or oscilloscope.
· Maintain and repair electronic test equipment.
· Recommend and develop new electronic testing equipment.
· Maintains professional and positive-minded attitude toward assigned activities.
· Become an expert in your assigned activities.
· Recommend method and tooling limits intended to maximize labor and material efficiency.
· Maintains strong commitment to excellence throughout the manufacturing operation. Develop and maintains a Quality Philosophy based on accepting responsibility for insuring the quality of employee’s work.
· Plans work assignments in order to maintain safety, minimize labor, and maximize quality. Thinks ahead.
· Responsible for supporting all quality measures and procedures.
· All other duties assigned, as appropriate.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
· Basic knowledge and understanding of Microcontrollers, Digital Logic, Protocols, and Active Feedback
· Basic knowledge and understanding of CAN and USB Networks
· Accurately follows oral and written instructions.
· Reads, understands, and works from engineering schematics/drawings.
· Has basic working knowledge of mathematics.
· Working knowledge of digital and analog circuit construction/operation.
Work Experience Required:
Prefer electronics technology degree or equivalent
