Job Overview
Werco Manufacturing, a HUBZone-certified, AS9100/ISO-9001-compliant small business with over 35 years of industry experience, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician – Assembly to join our team. We specialize in fabricating and assembling advanced components—such as metallic and composite honeycomb panels, complex structures, and precision parts—for military and commercial aircraft programs (e.g., E-6, 787, C-17, KC-135). This role will focus on hands-on assembly work within our 100,000 sq. ft. facility, supporting the production of high-quality structures and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly of metallic and composite honeycomb panels, complex structures, and aircraft components using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures.
- Support the fabrication and assembly of composite parts for various programs.
- Follow detailed blueprints, work instructions, and 3D models to ensure accurate assembly of components.
- Help set up and use assembly fixtures, jigs, and tooling (both build-to-print and custom-designed) to position parts precisely.
- Perform bonding, fastening, and finishing tasks on honeycomb panels, composites, aluminum, and steel structures.
- Collaborate with machinists, welders, and quality inspectors to meet production schedules and AS9100 standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and ITAR compliance.
- Assist with transporting and staging assembled structures for on-site integration or shipping.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in manufacturing or assembly is a plus.
- (aerospace or composite experience is a bonus).
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or assembly instructions.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic assembly techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills
- Experience assembling composite materials, honeycomb panels, or sandwich structures.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Knowledge of vacuum forming, layup processes, or tooling setup.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.59 - $18.65 per hour
