We seek an experienced Real Estate Agent or Property Management Professional as an independent contractor to support our Fair Chance Housing initiatives in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas. This contractor will leverage their expertise and network to develop relationships with property managers and landlords providing housing opportunities for individuals with justice-involved backgrounds.

This contractor will leverage their expertise and network to develop relationships with property managers and landlords providing housing opportunities for individuals with justice-involved backgrounds.
Project Deliverables and Scope
The independent contractor will support CROP's Fair Chance Housing initiatives by delivering the following outcomes and activities by December 31, 2025:
- Develop a Portfolio of Permanent Housing Options - Identify and connect CROP with landlords and property managers willing to provide housing to CROP's clients.
- Identify Potential Housing Units for Acquisition - Source rental properties or buildings that CROP may consider acquiring to expand affordable and permanent housing options.
- Build a Pipeline of at Least 200 Property Managers - Recruit and engage property managers and landlords across Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area to sign onto CROP's Fair Chance Housing pledge and enroll in the Fair Chance Housing Network by December 31, 2025.
- Secure Event Participation - Ensure at least 60 property managers attend each of CROP's bi-annual Fair Chance Housing Networking events (April and September).
Activities to Achieve Deliverables
- Conduct targeted outreach to property managers and landlords through various channels.
- Create promotional and educational materials about Fair Chance Housing policies and benefits.
- Develop and lead trainings & webinars for property managers about CROP's Fair Chance Housing Network and rental assistance programs.
- Facilitate online & in-person events to engage property managers.
- Collaborate with CROP's Housing Response Coordinator to strategize and execute outreach efforts.
- Provide regular progress updates to CROP's Director of Reentry.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7 years of experience in real estate, property management, or a related field.
- An established business with a large network of property managers, landlords, and real estate professionals in either the Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area. Contractors with networks in both areas are preferred.
- A proven track record of engaging property managers and real estate professionals in housing initiatives.
- Their own technological platform that can be leveraged for outreach, engagement, and tracking property manager participation.
- A deep understanding of Fair Chance Housing ordinances and local housing regulations across different cities in California. Preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with their own business tools and systems for project management and communication.
Contractor Relationship and Terms
- This is an independent contractor position. The contractor will maintain autonomy over how services are performed.
- The contractor will use their own equipment and business resources.
- The estimated time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per week.
- The selected contractor will be expected to maintain appropriate professional liability insurance. Proof of insurance can be provided upon selection.
- Compensation is a flat monthly rate of $7,000.
