Overview
A high-volume catering company is seeking a skilled Prep Cook / Banquet Chef with a valid driver’s license to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to ensuring the financial and operational success of our catering operations, including full service, drop-off and corporate events, with a strong focus on culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of multiple events simultaneously or in close succession.
- Lead and manage a diverse kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and execution in alignment with our ever-evolving, custom-designed menus.
- Supervise banquet kitchen operations, including staffing, training, recipe execution, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Prepare food for off-site catering events, ensuring proper packaging and transportation.
- Load food into Cambro's and coolers and safely transport items using company catering vehicles.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, addressing guest and team inquiries with professionalism. Service with a smile.
- Maintain a clean driving record and operate company vehicles safely.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, with Saturdays being essential.
- Communicate any unusual events, missing items, or operational concerns to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with experience in high-volume banquet and à la carte service.
- Ability to manage multiple event preparations and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Excellent team leadership and people skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Strong understanding of menu execution.
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in all food preparation and storage areas.
