Position Overview:
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for driving business growth through face-to-face interactions with residential homeowners, property managers, and commercial clients. The focus of this role is on selling hurricane shades, shutters, and awnings while establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
This position requires a self-starter who can manage their own sales territory, generate leads, deliver presentations, and close deals effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development:
o Identify, target, and prospect potential clients in residential and commercial markets for hurricane shades, shutters, and awnings.
o Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and attending industry events.
o Develop tailored sales proposals and presentations to meet the specific
needs and requirements of each customer.
o Close sales, manage client relationships, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Client Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients.
o Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle, including post-sale support and follow-ups.
o Conduct on-site visits to assess client needs and recommend appropriate products based on site-specific conditions.
- Product Knowledge & Promotion:
o Maintain expert-level knowledge of all products and services, including hurricane shades, shutters, and awnings, and effectively communicate their benefits to clients.
o Demonstrate products through in-person meetings, virtual presentations, and product samples when applicable.
o Educate clients on the importance of hurricane protection and how our
products can help safeguard their properties.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting:
o Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and local market conditions to identify new opportunities.
o Track sales activities, report on progress, and provide accurate sales
forecasts to management.
o Utilize CRM software to log customer information, track leads, and manage sales pipeline.
- Collaboration:
o Work closely with the installation and project management teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to project completion.
o Coordinate with marketing and support teams to create sales materials and promotional activities that drive business.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
o Minimum of 2-3 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the construction, home improvement, or building materials industry.
Experience selling hurricane protection products or related solutions is a plus.
- Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build
rapport quickly with clients.
o Ability to negotiate and close deals effectively.
o Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a sales territory.
o Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
o Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
- Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not necessary.
- Other Requirements:
o Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client visits and traveling within the assigned territory.
o Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, for client meetings and industry events.
