Our Summit campuses are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team at a reputable dog training business. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor dogs during playtime, ensuring safe and appropriate behavior.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in play areas, sleeping quarters, and common spaces.
- Provide basic grooming and bathing services as needed.
- Feed and administer medications to dogs according to specific instructions.
- Assist trainers during training sessions, helping with obedience exercises and behavior reinforcement.
- Exercise dogs individually or in groups, ensuring they receive adequate physical activity and mental stimulation.
- Monitor dogs for signs of illness or distress and notify management or veterinary staff as necessary.
- Interact with clients and provide updates on their dogs' activities and behavior.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining records.
Requirements:
- Passion for animals, particularly dogs, with a strong understanding of canine behavior and care.
- Previous experience working with dogs in a daycare, kennel, veterinary clinic, or similar setting is preferred.
- Ability to handle and restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and compassionately.
- Reliable and responsible, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and agility to handle the demands of the job, including standing, bending, and lifting.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in pet first aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of positive reinforcement training techniques.
- Experience administering medications to dogs.
- Familiarity with breed characteristics and basic grooming practices.
