Billing Clerk

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join their growing organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, verifying freight charges, and ensuring accurate billing for customers. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process invoices for transportation services, including freight and logistics billing.
• Verify shipment details, rates, and contracts to ensure accurate charges.
• Resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with internal departments, customers, and carriers.
• Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and customer accounts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Generate billing reports and provide financial data to management as needed.
• Assist customers with billing inquiries and provide necessary documentation.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is a plus).
• Proven experience as a Billing Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, or in a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of freight billing, shipping documentation, and transportation charges.
• Proficiency in billing software, Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, tariffs, and fuel surcharges is a plus.

• Office-based role with occasional collaboration with operations and logistics teams.
