General Accountant

Location: Northbrook, IL (In-Office)

Salary: $85,000-$95,000 Discretionary Bonus

Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a General Accountant to join their team in Northbrook, IL. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) processes. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems.
• Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required.
• Cross-train and serve as a backup to other team members as needed.
• Aid in the development and implementation of a centralized accounting function to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting within the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ODOO ERP is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
