- CFS is partnering with a repeat client in Crofton, MD. Due to an upcoming retirement, they are hiring a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team on a contract to hire basis
- Organization described as fun, relaxed, and team oriented
- Schedule: M-F 7am-4pm OR 8am-5pm, 40 hours per week. Early Fridays! This role is fully onsite in Crofton, MD.
- Company offers free parking to its employees
- Reports directly to the Controller
- Ideal start date: March 31, 2025
- Salary: $95,000-115,000 depending heavily on experience
- Responsible for preparation and review of assigned month end journal entries
- Perform general ledger and job cost reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly operational and financial reports
- Create and maintain land acquisition and development budgets
- Oversight of bi-weekly commissions, advances, and bonuses as well as review expense reports for accuracy
- Manage the intercompany payable/receivable process
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audit support material and tax schedules
- Perform various projects and ongoing assignments as needed
- 3 years general accounting experience required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or related highly preferred
- Construction or property accounting experience a plus, but not required
- Experience using Sage Timberline a plus, but not required
- Proficient Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.) required
- Team player, not afraid to challenge processes, and comfortable working in construction industry
