CFS has partnered with a growing company in Kalamazoo that's looking to hire an Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist will support the Accounting Department in a variety of accounting functions and financial analysis projects. The scope will be across multiple sites and multiple companies.

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities :
Process A / R invoicing and cash application, as well as A / P invoicing and monitoring cash requirements. This also involves processing debits & credits, as well as regular reconciliation of outstanding balances.
Maintain database integrity through Vendor Maintenance and Customer Maintenance screens. This encompasses credit terms, credit limits, tax status, all contact information, etc.
Support A / R & A / P efforts through both internal and external communications. This involves collection of open A / R invoices and reconciliation of any A / P issues that arise. This may involve researching the credit worthiness, and establishing appropriate credit policies for both vendors and customers. Also included is on-line research, seeking input feedback from others within the organization, contacting references, processing D&B's, etc. as appropriate.
Control Fixed Assets using FAS100 software. This includes building, moving, and deleting assets on a monthly basis. Also, coordinates an annual fixed asset review with the appropriate personnel.
Process payroll journal entries weekly, along with daily Cash Book entries to maintain proper cash balances.
Oversee the processing of Expense Reporting and Mileage Reporting
Reconcile petty cash at the end of each month.
Assist the Controller with month end and year end closing / reconciliations.
Generate and document continuous improvements for Accounting.
