Controller - Lead Financial Strategy in a Growing Organization
A well-established company in San Antonio is looking for a highly skilled Controller to lead its Accounting Department and partner with the CFO. This role is ideal for a proactive financial leader with strong expertise in inventory and cost accounting , ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic growth.
Location : On-site in San Antonio, TX
Salary : $120,000 bonus
Schedule : Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities :
Oversee and enhance cost accounting processes , including tracking materials, labor, and overhead variances .
Lead inventory management and analysis , including quarterly and year-end inventory procedures .
Ensure accurate product costing , identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, projections, and variance analyses to support decision-making.
Manage all accounting functions , ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies .
Strengthen internal controls and optimize financial policies.
Oversee audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance to maintain financial integrity.
Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and growth .
Qualifications :
Strong expertise in inventory and cost accounting (manufacturing or retail industry preferred).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA required).
Extensive experience with financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and internal controls .
Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, etc.) and ERP systems.
Proven leadership experience in accounting and financial management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills , with the ability to work across departments.
Experience in manufacturing or retail is highly preferred. Big 4 public accounting experience is a plus.
