What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Creative Liquid Coatings?
SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, organizing and controlling production operations for Plant 6 departments including activities related to schedule attainment, labor utilization, safety, product quality and supervision of direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Establish production metrics for all departments and maintain production tracking systems.
· Coordinate planning and schedule activities to ensure customer production orders are covered in advance of requirement due date.
· Liaison with all applicable departments to minimize any disruptions to production plan.
· Monitor daily production performance and work with department leadership to ensure correction actions are taken when necessary to meet production goals.
· Coordinate through Human Resources to ensure adequate staffing is available to support production requirements.
· Audit process compliance to work standards and enforce quality control programs.
· Assist with problem solving activities to improve areas of deficiency to performance metrics.
· Analyze production performance and implement improvement actions plans where targets are not being met.
· Monitor associates compliance to company policies and work standards.
· Oversee production launch activities for all assigned departments.
· Support training activities and verify training effectiveness.
· Coach and counsel direct reports on department and personal performance.
· Support continuous improvement activities through coaching of team members, assignment of personnel to support kaizen events or quality circles and as a cross-functional team member.
· Participate in and support cost savings program to ensure corporate objectives are met.
· Support IATF16949 initiatives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises all salaried Production Area Manager’s & hourly employees at times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*Bachelor’s degree in business related field or a minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training in manufacturing operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, groups of associates, or management representatives, suppliers and customers. Ability to use computerized applications to summarize production status or activities and e-mail systems in the day-to-day functions of the job.
Reasoning Ability:
Requires analytical and problem solving knowledge, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
