As a Direct Support Professional at Creative Living Options, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement individualized support plans that promote client independence and community involvement.
- Monitor client health and well-being, including taking vital signs as needed.
- Facilitate social interactions and community engagement opportunities for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents that occur during shifts.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in caregiving or direct support roles, preferably in group home or community settings.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and basic health monitoring techniques is essential.
- Experience in dementia care or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence when required.
- Familiarity with social work principles is beneficial but not mandatory.
