Summary
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team at Creative Living Options. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals with disabilities, helping them to live as independently as possible while fostering their personal growth and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities.
- Assist clients in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
- Facilitate community integration by encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
- Ensure the health and safety of clients by following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and incidents as required.
- Advocate for residents' rights and promote self-advocacy among clients.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to coordinate care.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Strong caregiving skills and a compassionate approach to client care.
- Knowledge of assisted living environments and group home settings is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-directed.
