As a Direct Support Professional at Creative Living Options, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. This position is essential in fostering independence and community integration for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, promoting independence and personal growth.
- Assist clients with medication administration while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Observe and document patient behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences of clients.
- Support individuals in community engagement activities, fostering social connections.
- Assist with personal care tasks as needed, including lifting and mobility support.
- Collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans that align with each client’s goals.
Requirements
- Experience in patient observation or direct support roles preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with long-term care practices and home health services is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Willingness to assist with meal preparation and other household tasks as needed.
