Assistant Preschool Closing Teacher

Creative Nursery and Preschool is seeking energetic, positive, patient, loving, responsible and reliable individuals to assist with all functions of the child care program.

We are hiring for an Assistant Preschool closing teacher. The Preschool closer position is M-F, 3pm-6pm, with an option to work 10am-6pm on Fridays.

The hourly rate starts at $16 per hour. Part-time employees are eligible for two weeks of vacation and two personal days in addition to 10 paid holidays.

This position is perfect for a college student majoring in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. The ideal candidate will have college level coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and will have at least one year of experience in a child care program working with infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months and/or preschool age children.

Following are a few examples of the kind of care you will provide:

-Nurture and support the development of the infants in the program in all domains (Cognitive, Physical, Language and Social-Emotional)

-Enter details of the childrens' day in the Brightwheel app.

-Communicate with parents in person and via the Brightwheel app

-Utilize redirection

-Assist Preschool Teacher with putting away nap cots, making sure children have used the restroom after nap, washed their hands, etc

-Assist Preschool Teacher with serving snack and clean-up following snack, including sweeping and 3-step cleaning the tables

-Assist Preschool Teacher with any afternoon projects, circle time and/or supervising outdoor play time in a positive, loving manner

-Take the children outside as schedules and weather allow

-Sanitize toys and other daycare equipment and assist with closing duties including sweeping, mopping, cleaning the bathroom, etc.

-Other duties as required

Physical requirements include an ability to lift and carry young children, the ability to get down on the floor and up again quickly and easily and the general ability to perform the duties listed above. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

**Punctuality and reliability are of the utmost importance. Excessive lateness or absences will result in termination. Mistreatment of the children of any sort (physical, verbal, emotional or otherwise) will result in immediate termination. Excessive personal cell phone use will not be tolerated. Excessive gossip or general negativity that leads to a toxic work culture will not be tolerated.
