What are the responsibilities and job description for the SOCIAL MEDIA CREATOR & MARKETING LEAD position at Creative People?
What they're really doing: Our client is starting with greeting cards (yes, greeting cards!) but with a completely fresh take - culturally relevant designs, artist collaborations, and technology that handles all the annoying parts. But this is just our beginning. We're creating the tools, infrastructure, and experiences that will redefine how people celebrate and connect with each other.
Why it matters: In a world of digital fatigue, people are craving real, tangible connections again. That's why vinyl records are up 9%, disposable cameras are up 14%, and why they believe the time is perfect for reinventing physical expressions of thoughtfulness.
What sets them apart:
- Cards that actually sound like you (not your grandma)
- A creator platform where artists share in our success
- Technology that makes the entire experience frictionless
- Products designed to be shared, both physically and digitally
Can you create TikToks that hit 100K views and also build the marketing strategy behind them? Are you equally comfortable being on camera and analyzing performance data?
Our client is looking for someone who can excel at both content creation and strategic marketing in a genuine 50/50 split role. This position combines two critical functions that are usually separate: being the face of their brand and the strategic mind behind their growth.
This is for people who get frustrated having to choose between being creative or strategic. Here, you'll do both—creating engaging content one hour and developing platform strategy the next. You're both the talent and the director, the creator and the strategist.
🎭 THE DOUBLE LIFE YOU'LL LEAD:
As a Creator (50%):
- Create and star in content that makes the brand feel like a friend, not a brand
- Transform their brand voice (70% witty & transformative, 30% unfiltered & funny) into visual content that feels like it was made by an actual human, not a marketing department
- Make our client feel culturally essential through your charismatic on-screen presence
- Edit videos and stay ahead of platform trends, sounds, and formats
- Create content so good it makes other brands quietly take notes
As a Strategist (50%):
- Develop comprehensive channel strategies that drive both brand love AND conversion metrics
- Develop marketing campaigns that move people from discovery to purchase
- Create influencer and UGC partnership programs with detailed briefs, contracts, and performance tracking
- Manage content calendars across platforms, optimizing for each channel's unique algorithm
- Build testing frameworks to constantly refine what works (and ruthlessly kill what doesn't)
- Present performance data with strategic insights that actually shape business decisions
- Allocate social budgets across platforms, campaign types, and creator partnerships
- Track competitive landscape and identify white space opportunities for the brand's social presence
- Craft platform-specific strategies that maximize each channel's unique strengths while maintaining a cohesive brand voice
Think of it as having two complementary jobs that make each other better—your strategic brain makes your creative work more effective, and your creative instincts make your strategy more innovative.
⚠️ THE NON-NEGOTIABLES:
- 3 years of experience creating on-camera content (with a portfolio of TikToks/Reels where YOU are the star)
- 3-4 years in social media strategy or marketing management
- Significant track record of high-performing content (We're talking 100K views, multiple times)
- Video editing skills you don’t need to be a professional, just being able to edit for social
- Strategic mindset that can translate likes and shares into actual business growth
- Genuine comfort being one of the faces of a brand (Not just "I've been in videos before" but "I light up on camera")
