What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crochet/Knitting Instructor position at Creative Summer at Holton-Arms School?
Creative Summer is day camp located at the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, MD. The program is a co-ed Arts, Sports, Theater, and Academic camp. It runs for six weeks from June 23 – August 1, with orientation from June 16th to the 20th. We hire our staff for the full six weeks. For counselors, the day would be from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. The day is structured into five 50 minute class periods. Instructors lead 5 groups of approximately 15 campers throughout the day. For more information https://www.holtoncreativesummer.org/
We are looking for a counselor to teach our Knitting and Crochet classes. This person will work with campers ages 7 to 13. This person should have prior experience in yarn crafting and knowledge of Knitting and Crochet. They preferably have previous work experience with children. This is a perfect position for a teacher on summer break!!
Instructor must be 20 or older.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging crochet and knitting lesson plans tailored for various age groups.
- Provide hands-on instruction and support to students, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a productive atmosphere, addressing individual needs and promoting collaboration.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Organize and lead workshops or special projects to showcase students' work and creativity.
