FINISH SPRAYER AND PRODUCTION FLOAT

Maine Woodworks is looking for a new member of our award winning furniture making team. This person will take pride and satisfaction in the work they do. This is a good position for someone who enjoys working with their hands and being part of a team. Experience is helpful but will train the right candidate. Position will work in our clean, well lit, climate controlled, state of the art production facility in Saco. Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm = 40 hours/week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prime, finish spray and prep sand- based on production needs.
Manage flow of products to insure deadlines and quality are met.
Assist in scheduling.
Perform “Primer” and “Painter” functions when required.
Keep all paint tools, systems, booths in proper working order, clean and provide regular maintenance.
Train new employees in priming and sanding operations.
Assist with sanders’ schedule when required.
Implement streamline strategies.
Ensure safety procedures are practiced daily by paint/sanding staff.
Perform assigned tasks within the shop including, but not limited to, parts processing, furniture assembly, furniture priming, prep sanding, final assembly, packaging and shipping, and other duties as assigned.
Operate all machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform regular maintenance to all equipment and keep General Manager/Sr. Production Worker informed on working conditions.
Assist with developing and implementing procedures to help streamline production and increase efficiency.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with inventory control.
Assist with new products, finishers.
Act as liaison between finishing/paint product vendors.
Coordinate/Assist with Time Studies.
Identify and communicate concerns to Team Leader and/or Production Director in timely manner.
Set up and clean up work station daily.
Implement all safety procedures and policies daily.
Immediately report all safety concerns, hazards or violations to immediate supervisor or Human Resources Director.
Attend training sessions as directed.
Participate in team meetings.
Demonstrate open communication with other employees to ensure maximum efficiency.
Assist in all areas of production as assigned.
PHYSICAL WORK TOLERANCES:
Ability to do standing/sedentary tasks for long periods of time.
Ability to perform range of motion tasks, including but not limited to; reaching, bending, stretching, stooping and lifting.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (all personnel are trained in correct lifting procedures).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Wood working experience preferred
High School Diploma or Equivalency
Ability to speak, read and write in English
