Senior Corporate Accountant
This role will be very hands on and play an integral part in all aspects of accounting operations with opportunities to work on various projects. The ideal candidate will be someone who can roll up their sleeves to work on different areas of the month-end close and help implement systems that can scale and improve upon processes. The Senior Accountant should enjoy a fast-paced environment, be a team player and have an excellent ability to prioritize individual and team objectives while developing the accounting infrastructure at Credit Karma.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key participant in the financial close process, working on areas such as fixed assets, prepaids, leases and accruals
- Own the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting models, flux analysis
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners across the organization and communicate effectively to ensure complete and accurate accounting
- Train accountants on various accounting concepts and best practices
- Lead field work for interim and annual external audits as well as internal audits
- Assist with researching and resolving technical accounting issues
- Maintain and improve upon the current accounting infrastructure and workpaper documentation
- Assist with the development and implementation of new systems and internal controls that meet the Company’s business growth and culture
- Ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Combination of Big 4 CPA firm background and industry experience preferred
- 3 years of corporate accounting experience, with increasing levels of responsibilities
- Detail oriented and can operate in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Strong multi-tasking skills and with the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- NetSuite or Oracle experience is a plus
- CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred
