Position Summary
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Must take a detailed approach in the management of people related issues such as:
- Complex ER issues, to include high risk terminations
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills to draft, review and redline performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and legal documents,
- Policy interpretation/application
- Conduct harassment, workplace violence, fraud and reasonable suspicion investigations to completion.
- Work as a liaison with third party vendor to facilitate FMLA, Leave of Absence and ADA accommodations. Responsible for the resolution of highly complex issues and addressing patterns of abuse. Ensure compliance of all documentation sent on behalf of Credit One Bank.
- Ensures action is being taken to address these issues and provides insight and feedback to managers and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Represent Credit One Bank for Unemployment claims and EEOC related matters
- Ability to effectively interact and develop relationships with staff.
- Partner with business leaders to identify their HR needs and objectives and collaborates with the HR leadership teams to meet those objectives.
- Recent knowledge of to Nevada Employment law with working knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO/AA, EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA. Must be self-motivated to keep abreast of ever-changing employment law with the ability to adapt Employee Relations practices to ensure compliance.
- Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. Recommend updates and process improvements to internal stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to create Human Resources risk controls. Conduct and summarize quarterly internal Human Resources audits of these controls. Facilitate bank-wide audit requests.
- Updates the employee handbook as appropriate and ensures that all documents are accessible and posted as required.
- Facilitate focus groups, synthesize findings, and create action plans to improve employee engagement.
- Proven ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously with little to no supervision.
- Able to build strong partnerships, build trust, and work closely with managers, senior leaders and HR colleagues.
- Consult with internal and external counsel as appropriate and facilitate action items. Superb communication skills including effective listening, writing and presentation. Demonstrated ability to negotiate, persuade, resolve conflict and reach fair outcomes.
- Ability to express thoughts and provide feedback in a clear and concise manner.
- Consistently exhibits high levels of discretion, integrity and confidentiality.
- Conducts exit interviews, job eliminations and provides turnover reports and analysis, including recommendations based on findings.
- Recommends new approaches and/or procedural changes to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and the services performed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, county, and city regulations concerning employment. Acts as a consultant for the Human Resources department.
- Lends administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources Operations as needed.
- Facilitate the Business Continuity Plan to include oversight of the Alert Media application.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a similar field or equivalent education and experience.
- Three to five years of human resources experience as a Generalist or related experience with an emphasis in employee relations and leaves administration.
- 2 years’ experience in providing guidance to various levels of management on employee relations issues.
- Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail. Excellent time management and follow-up abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, individually and in groups.
- Track employee relations and leaves administration metrics weekly and review on a quarterly basis to assess where action can be taken to simplify a process, train managers, etc. in order to support a growing client base. Determine and create a plan to address employee relations patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict, negotiate and mediate as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Experience and ability to facilitate group discussions and problem solving.
- Experience and ability to deliver training and presentations relative to Human Resources.
- Ability to work independently and to deal with ambiguity is critical.
- Ability to coach and counsel various levels of employees
- Must use discretion when working with confidential information.
- Strong skill and competency with Microsoft Excel.
Preferred
- SPHR or PHR certification
- HR Generalist experience
- Previous experience with Dayforce or another cloud based HRIS solution
- Experience with Jira
