General Purpose of the Position
Designs, implements and leads the Strategic Operations function and ensures organizational initiatives are delivered with consistently high-quality and align with the organization’s strategic priorities. It is both a strategic and operational role, leading and performing business analysis and project management efforts to deliver cross-functional company-wide projects. Provides project management and business analysis oversight throughout the organization to build the project management and business analysis disciplines as core operational competencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field, or equivalent experience and education. PMP certification required. ITIL v4 certification or change management certification preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of project management discipline and business analysis standards. Knowledge and use of MS Office suite and other specific project management tools. Process mapping software experience. Demonstrated knowledge in process mapping and flowcharting. Eight to ten years of progressive experience in project management or business analysis. Three or more years of business process improvement facilitation or requirements gathering expertise. Supervisory experience required. Experience in the financial services industry preferred. Innovative thought leadership experience required.

- Responsible for the planning, organizing and managing of activities to bring about the successful completion of specific organizational project goals and objectives in a matrixed resource environment to ensure commitments on quality, scope, time and budget are met or exceeded.
- Manage and implement enterprise level and strategy driven cross-functional projects within the organization. Identify and continually manage project resource allocation and utilization throughout the organization.
- Provide training, development, and coaching on project management, business process analysis and project team building for associates within the organization.
- Plan, manage, and address project manager/coordinator and business process analyst assignments and personnel needs. Provide leadership over all aspects of organizational projects from the planning phase through deployment into production, including cross-functional communication, financial analysis, resource planning and allocation, risk management planning, budget management and change control.
- Coordinate and provide consistent, actionable communication on key projects to all levels of the organization.
- Provide leadership to various organizational departments in the development and evaluation of product requests, RFPs, vendor selection, requirement management, and change requests to ensure alignment with the Credit Union’s strategic plan.
- Establish and implement consistent project management and business analysis methodology and tools to ensure organizational projects are completed within time and budget constraints. Ensure strategic operations resources are driving at an effective pace and consistently delivering superior member service.
- Collaborates with credit union staff to stay abreast on innovative technologies necessary to deliver high quality projects while meeting organizational expectations. Continuously evaluates and recommends new project management methods. Regularly monitors and analyzes industry news related to key accounts, assesses the impact to our strategic plan and appropriately communicates opportunities, challenges and course-corrections.
- Assists in managing the credit union’s project portfolio. Works with all business units, Project Portfolio Committee, and IT to ensure proper alignment with organizational projects and initiatives. Communicates as needed to all levels of organizational leaders, the project priorities and relative updates including future schedule changes and adjustments.
- Maintain an understanding of regulations and other external drivers that may affect the organization. Keep up to date on industry modifications or changes that may impact the organization. Utilize outside resources to accomplish as needed.
- Regularly monitors and analyzes emerging technology and processes, assess the impact to our strategic plan and appropriately communicates opportunities, challenges and organizational improvements.
- Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC. Adheres to all regulatory requirements, both within the credit union industry and in general. Maintain an understanding of regulations and other external drivers that may affect the organization.
- Responsible for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Anti Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for such illegal activity as it applies to this position.
