Retail Shift Leader (2)
The Retail Shift Leader (2) is responsible for overseeing the daily Retail & Deli shift operation. The Shift Leader monitors and/or performs all transactions in such a manner as to ensure excellent customer service.
Reporting Relationship
The Retail Shift Leader (2) shall report directly to the General Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures each customer receives outstanding service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all products sold in store.
- Responsible for verification and balancing of all appropriate reports.
- Runs general errands including accompanying security personnel to make money deposits, etc.
- Participates in the training of all new and current attendants.
- Maintains an adequate inventory to meet daily needs of the store and promotes items to improve sales volume.
- Confers regularly with Manager(s) to communicate customer/employee requests and keeps informed of any changes in operating procedures.
- Assists with the maintenance and enforcement of procedures that comply with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures regulating tobacco and alcohol products.
- Ensures that all applicable store operating policies and procedures are always adhered to without deviation.
- Ensures the physical condition of the premises is maintained in a safe, healthy manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager(s).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of verifiable related employment experience or a combination of education and verifiable related employment experience required.
- Must have working knowledge of computers with the ability to work in a Windows environment with various software programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and use all equipment and register system necessary to run the store.
- Directs the preparation of all appropriate reports for bank deposits, auditing functions, etc. and ensures they are prepared in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to perform all aspects of this position adequately and successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Willing to work irregular hours/days as business dictates.
- Ability to move or manage merchandise throughout the store generally weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the CIEDA Personnel Policies and Procedures.
- Internal Promotion must have completed 90-day probational period, work as Retail Shift Leader (2) 9 Months or a level (2) position in a direct line skill set or transfer to a direct line skill set at a level (2) for 6 months.
- Must work as Retail Shift Leader (2) 9 months and be certified in all positional requirements, pass interview, & positional slot is available to move Retail Assistant Manager.
