What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Spirit Programs position at Creighton University Social Sourcing?
The Director of Spirit Programs will recruit, manage, lead, and administer the cheer team, dance team, pep band, Blue Crew,
and mascot programs. The director will also serve as the head coach of the cheer or dance team. This position will also assist
the marketing and fan experience team in the promotion of athletic events through campus and community outreach efforts.

- Manage the daily operation of all spirit programs, including the cheer team, dance team, and the Billy Bluejay mascot program. We anticipate a cheer team of 25-30 members and a dance team consisting of 20-30 members.
- Serve as the head cheer team coach and manage and oversee the dance team and mascot program.
- Manages and supervises the evaluation and selection of cheerleaders and dance squad members.
- Coach or oversee the coaching of spirit program members in the proper techniques.
- Recruit strong students for spirit programs.
- Work with admissions office to identify potential students through various outreach efforts including campus tours and other admissions office recruiting efforts.
- Manage equipment and apparel inventory.
- Manage spirit program budget.
- Serve as operational director for spirit squad assignments which includes home game appointments, community assignments, and road trips.
- Manage community outreach efforts through the spirit program to promote and maximize the Creighton University and Athletics brand.
- Engage with students and campus groups in collaboration with athletics marketing and fan experience team to help drive student attendance and engagement across all Creighton athletic and campus events.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-6 years' experience in collegiate spirit groups, coaching, or marketing.
- Familiarity with management, leadership preferred.
