Job description
Medical Lab Technologist provides timely and courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently. Detects unusual conditions and assumes responsibility for problem solving. They also supervises students, phlebotomists, and clerical personnel.
Qualifications Education / Experience: Associate degree with MLT and clinical laboratory training culminating in national certification, as defined by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry required.
Or
Bachelor degree in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Medical or Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Allied Health or other related field required. License / Certification required: Associate degree requires ASCP Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work from broad directions and be self-motivated.
- Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
- Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients. Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with patients, guest, and hospital personnel.
- The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
