Job Summary
Maintain sanitary conditions and general cleanliness of the facility in compliance with standard procedures of the Housekeeping department and in compliance with hospital objectives. Maintain related records as appropriate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean assigned areas daily, using established schedules and prescribed methods.
Daily cleaning duties include, but not limited to:
· Patient rooms
· Wards
· Nursing stations
· Lounges
· Laboratories
· Bathrooms
· Offices
Prescribed methods for daily cleaning include, but not limited to:
· Dust horizontal surfaces that collect dust.
· Empty waste baskets, remove trash and clean ashtrays.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ENVIRONMENTAL SUPERVISOR
· Damp wipe and clean all furniture.
· Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms.
· Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices.
· Spot clean walls, windows, and polish metal surfaces.
· Replenish room supplies.
· Make beds and perform patient check-out cleaning as assigned.
· Spot-clean carpets as assigned.
Sort and distribute linens.
Assist in witnessed spills, and when requested.
Maintain cleanliness of assigned equipment.
Request repair of hospital equipment, furniture, fixtures, or building components when the need is observed.
Perform assigned duties in the event of internal or external disaster.
Keep housekeeping area clean at all times, performing duties as necessary and at least once per hour.
Ensure safe storage of equipment and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain habits of good personal hygiene and follow rules of conduct.
Complete necessary forms and reports.
Maintains and cleans lobby throughout shift.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
· Completion of elementary education, or otherwise show ability to read and write.
· Follow oral and written directions.
· High School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
MINIUMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
· Previous hospital experience, or completion of appropriate training program preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
· Ability to read and write in English.
· Ability to communicate with employees, patients, and guests.
· Ability to remain calm under stress.
· Standing on feet for long periods of time.
· Walking, reaching, bending.
· Lifting a minimum of 25lbs and up to 100lbs.
· Walking and standing for long periods of time.
· Pushing and Pulling.
· Ability to adjust to changes in temperature.
· Handling of strong chemicals.
