Job Summary :
The Client is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Solutions Architect to modernize its IT infrastructure and data application systems. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing a cloud strategy, enabling workload migrations, and transitioning legacy on-premises systems to a hybrid cloud environment. The Architect will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on expertise in Azure-based solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and compliance with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities :
Cloud Strategy & Architecture : Design, develop, and implement cloud and hybrid solutions on Microsoft Azure, including compute, network, storage, monitoring, and security.
Legacy System Modernization : Lead the migration of on-premises application systems to a cloud environment through vendor-hosted solutions or custom development.
Enterprise Collaboration : Work with IT managers, business analysts, developers, DBAs, and system staff o define and implement cloud strategies.
Solution Implementation : Provide technical leadership in developing cloud-based solutions, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and serverless computing.
Governance & Compliance : Ensure project compliance with federal and commonwealth standards, security policies, and IT governance frameworks.
Performance Optimization : Develop and implement performance standards and cost-effective architectures that meet business and customer needs.
Stakeholder Engagement : Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including IT leadership, business users, and external vendors.
Documentation & Training : Develop meticulous technical documentation, deliver presentations, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for IT and business teams.
Operational Requirements :
Project Oversight : Track and manage assignments, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
Collaboration & Consultation : Act as a partner consultant to various project teams, assessing work quality and providing feedback.
Continuous Improvement : Participate in process reviews, deliverable reviews, and quality assurance checks.
Testing & Validation : Engage in testing phases to validate solutions meet business and technical requirements.
Status Reporting : Provide weekly status updates via SharePoint and Daptiv (if applicable), and complete timesheet reporting in PeopleFluent / VectorVMS.
Use of SharePoint : Maintain project documentation and review existing documentation within SharePoint.
Required Skills & Experience :
Azure Expertise : Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and monitoring.
Cloud Migration & Transformation : Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migrations and hybrid cloud implementations.
Software Development & Architecture : Strong knowledge of software engineering, data architecture, and application development with proficiency in SQL, .NET, Python, and related technologies.
DevOps & Automation : Expertise in CI / CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git) and automation frameworks.
Enterprise IT Operations : Deep understanding of IT operations, including virtualization, disaster recovery, business continuity, and governance.
Public Cloud & Hybrid Environments : Experience designing public and private cloud solutions that align with enterprise architecture.
Stakeholder Communication : Ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences effectively.
Experience Leading Teams : Minimum 5 years as a Software Development Lead and 3 years as an Architect leading mission-critical systems.
Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
Certifications : Microsoft Azure certification preferred.
Previous experience working in the public sector or government IT environments.
Familiarity with data lakes, Databricks, Azure SQL, and enterprise data solutions.
