Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal)

Primary Purpose:

We are seeking creative and organized camp counselors to join our Kids Camp team. In this position, you will play a key role in shaping and educating our campers by instructing them on numerous outdoor activities and experiences. You will also collaborate with other counselors, create recreational plans and activities, and lead campers in fun-filled projects.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and oversee camper activities
• Guide and teach a range of outdoor activities
• Ensure camper safety and monitor their activities
• Set up and ensure recreation equipment is secure and stored properly
• Supervise campers during meals
• Instruct campers in daily routines and cleanup tasks
• Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines
• Work one-on-one with campers
• Instruct and organize camper projects (arts and crafts, dramatics, etc.)

Skills:

• A positive motivator and strong Christian role model
• Actively attending, serving and tithing at a Bible believing, Gospel Preaching church
• High school degree or equivalent; Associate’s degree, or two (2) years or more of full-time college coursework equivalent preferred
• First aid and CPR training and certification preferred
• Previous experience as a counselor-in-training, teacher, childcare, or related field
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Encouraging campers and patients when instructing
• Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable in a team-player role
• Creative and innovative thinker and planner
• Strict adherence to camp philosophy, standards, and goals

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $12.00 - $12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
