Position Overview:
As the Assistant Director of Sales, you'll play a key role in driving group, corporate, and catering business. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you’ll help shape the property's sales strategy, build strong client relationships, and ensure our boutique positioning shines through every deal closed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve property revenue goals
- Proactively source and close new group and corporate business
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local companies, travel planners, and key accounts
- Conduct site inspections, client meetings, and attend local networking events to promote the hotel
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities
- Collaborate with marketing to execute promotional campaigns and sales initiatives
- Support the DOSM in preparing monthly reports, forecasts, and budgets
- Lead and inspire the sales coordinator and other junior team members
- Maintain a deep understanding of hotel offerings, brand identity, and competitive edge
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, ideally in a boutique or lifestyle property
- Proven track record in corporate or group sales
- Strong knowledge of the San Diego market
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Familiarity with CRM systems, CITY, Opera, and other revenue tools
- Passion for hospitality, travel, and creating memorable guest experiences
