Objective / Purpose of Job

  • Develop and maintain customer contacts in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing, as assigned.
  • Aid in the development of equipment, tooling, data collection and analysis, operational processes and quality processes on current and future projects.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to evaluate the feasibility and potential value of new products and customers.
  • Aid in preparing budgetary process.
  • Represent Sales Department at Engineering, Manufacturing and Production meetings.
  • Involvement in Quality System reporting and improvements.

Specific Duties

  • Continuous updating of customer item forecasts by account to assist Purchasing and Production efforts in scheduling resources and to reduce lead-times.
  • Ensure initial purchase orders for new products are entered and scheduled in conjunction with Product Development Engineer.
  • Aid in sales input for operating software.
  • Identify new customers/products to support budgeted objectives.
  • Develop customer quotations in conjunction with Product Development Engineer.
  • Research and report on various market and competitive issues.
  • Provide assistance to the Customer Service Representative as needed.
  • Attend weekly Staff Meetings on behalf of the Sales Department and report on findings.
  • Submit monthly reports for Quality System.
  • Travel to customer(s) when necessary and feasible.
  • All other duties as needed or assigned.

  • Monthly report to supervisor on status of projects
  • Monthly Product & Key Customer Report to supervisor, President/CEO, and Operations Manager
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Request for Quotation (RFQ)
  • Production Sample Request
  • Engineering Production Release
  • Product Change Request(s)
  • Request for Inventory Item Change
  • Deviation Authorization
  • Reports as required for budgeting purposes
  • Maintain files for Medical, Regulatory and FDA registrations

Communication Requirements

  • Good organization skills so follow-up is completed on a timely basis to customers
  • Must have a pleasant demeanor and excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Must be able to develop and deliver effective presentations to customers, as well as answer any questions they might have.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to our customers via written communication, telephone and the internet.
  • Provide direct communication to manufacturing, as needed.

Quality System

  • Understanding of Quality Policy and how position contributes to the fulfillment of Crescent’s Quality Policy
  • Understanding of applicable Corporate and Process Objectives and how position contributes to the fulfillment of these objectives
  • Maintains a focus on customer requirements and their satisfaction
  • Participates in Corrective and Preventive Actions, which includes notifying personnel of the need for any Corrective and/or Preventive Actions
  • Follows and adheres to policies and procedures, which includes work instructions
  • Is aware of how changes affect Crescent’s Quality Management System
  • Suggests Improvement

  • Be willing to learn new computer skills applicable to Sales and Marketing initiatives

  • Per organizational chart

Evaluation and Advancement Requirements

  • The position will be evaluated annually using the performance appraisal form

Authority

  • Has the authority to make any decisions required to complete job duties

Substitution and Cross-Training Requirements

  • Will learn Sales Order Entry to back up the Customer Service Representative.

Hiring Requirements

  • Must effectively communicate both oral and written communications in a professional manner with all employees and customers
  • Must be comfortable with making decisions
  • Previous management experience is required, unless promoted from within the organization
  • Must have three to five years previous experience in technical sales. Familiarity with Engineering principals and concepts is preferred
  • Must be able to work with production and planning to establish accurate lead-times and shipping guidelines before making commitments to the customer
  • Must be in agreement with Crescent Manufacturing Company’s Mission/Vision Statement and be willing to be an active participant in helping to meet the company goals
  • Must have good organizational and planning skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 and detailed spreadsheet applications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
