We are searching for a Banquet Set Up/Houseman to join our brilliant team of hospitality professionals.
The Banquet Houseman is responsible for preparing venues for food service events, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization. This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in banquet service or related hospitality roles, with a focus on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Responsibilities
- Set up tables, chairs, and other equipment according to event specifications. Arrange tables and chairs in desired layouts (e.g., banquet style, round tables, etc.)
- Set up and arrange decorations as specified.
- Ensure the venue is clean and tidy before, during, and after events. Empty trash, linens, etc.
- Properly handle and store tables, chairs, and other equipment.
- Clean and sanitize tables and chairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area for equipment and supplies.
- Know how to assemble and disassemble equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Set up and maintain water stations in meeting spaces.
- Work closely with banquet captains and other staff to ensure smooth event operations.
- Follow instructions from event planners and management.
- Communicate any problems or concerns to management.
- May be required to assist with other tasks as needed
- May be required to assist with the breakdown of events after they are over.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace.
Requirements
- Prior experience in banquet service, catering, or hospitality settings preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment or furniture as needed.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
