What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Crestwood Animal Hospital?
Crestwood Animal Hospital & Canine Rehabilitation is looking for someone that is high-energy, fun, and outgoing to join our small team as a receptionist. We are a busy small animal veterinary office with one full time doctor and 1 part time doctor. We see cats and dogs by appointment and are open Monday through Saturday. Our available receptionist position is full time and scheduled Monday through Friday with the rare Saturday to cover for illness or vacation. This is a closing shift and will require the candidate to stay past closing at 6pm until the close-out duties are completed, this can take anywhere from 5-20 minutes or so.
Our ideal candidate will possess at least 1 year of veterinary office experience however this is not required. Candidates must have exemplary customer service skills and professionalism, the ability to work well under stress and pressure, and be an excellent problem solver. Candidate must be able to excel during busy times and be able to keep organized to complete day-to-day tasks.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
* opening and closing the office
* answering multiline phone system
* processing payments, in person and over the phone
* checking patients in and out
* read, comprehend, and communicate medical history
* client education
* relay medical information
* telephone communication
* text communication
* email communication
* communication with other clinics and pharmacies
* maintain a clean environment (including disposing of animal waste)
* medical record documentation
* scheduling and confirming appointments
* prioritizing and triaging phone calls and appointments
Wage is determined by experience and performance.
