Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their needs and eligibility for services.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HEDIS measures and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Utilize eClinicalWorks and other systems for documentation, tracking, and reporting purposes.
- Perform utilization reviews to assess the appropriateness of care provided to patients.
- Provide training and support to staff regarding MDS processes, documentation standards, and coding practices.
- Monitor quality indicators related to patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical documentation within a healthcare setting, preferably in an inpatient environment.
- Familiarity with utilization management processes and HEDIS measures is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical coding practices is a plus.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration among healthcare professionals.
