Full Time, 12 Month, 260 Day Position
Benefits will be according to the Crestwood School District Board of Directors and the Compensation Plan for Confidential Secretaries. Current Act 24 (82), Act 34, Act 114, Act 126, Act 151, and Act 168 Clearance. A pre-employment physical and drug test will be required as well. Salary will be based on experience.

Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Confidential Business Office Payroll Secretary
DEPARTMENT: Central Administration
DATE: November 1, 2021
LOCATION: District Wide
REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
POSITION GOAL: To support and facilitate a successful payroll operation for the Crestwood School District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES _&_RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enter Payroll Account activities
2. Enter all new employees into Skyward Finance
3. Exit all former employees out of Skyward Finance
4. Prepare information for negotiation purposes
5. Maintain payroll ledger for examination by school auditors
6. Calculate and transfer monies from Cafeteria, and athletic accounts to cover payroll expenses
7. Compute and prepare all checks for board signature, all taxes and voluntary deduction payments.
8. Responsible for making Federal withhold and social security tax deposit payments each payroll
9. Complete 941 on a quarterly basis; compute yearly social security estimates and state reconciliation forms.
10. Complete PA State Income Tax Form 501 bi-weekly; prepare W3 reconciliation return on a quarterly basis, and the W2 State transmittal at the end of the year.
11. Responsible for checking information on EIT Quarterly before forwarding payments to Berkheimer.
12. Responsible for calculating and paying all employee deduction payments monthly
13. Compute and prepare all deductions and payments and submit them to the proper departments.
14. Prepare and enter unemployment compensation calculations
15. Prepare, maintain, and transmit employee contribution information to PSERS
16. Prepare, maintain, and transmit purchase of service information to PSERS
17. Skilled in the use of computer programs and office equipment
18. Type correspondence as necessary for the Business Office
19. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public
20. Keep complex records and prepare periodic reports
21. Update time (PTO) in Skyward & Frontline by running reports
22. Process and produce biweekly timecards for employee use
23. Calculate out and apply annual wage increases and longevity rates for support staff.
24. Process & payout "Lump sum" payments
25. Run auto accrual update for support staff sick time
26. Audit all timecards for accuracy in addition to paid time off & review for accuracy
27. Review, calculate & adjust longevity increases for all Support staff
28. Review & input in Skyward all Step increases for Support staff for the upcoming contract year
29. Perform all work assigned by the Director of Human Resources, Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager, and Superintendent of Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. The Confidential Secretary must possess and demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
2. High School Diploma
3. Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
4. Minimum two years’ experience in bookkeeping and/or payroll
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
1. Full time - 260-day appointment
2. Salary according to the agreement between the Crestwood School District Board of Directors and the employee. This position is a part of the Confidential Secretaries Compensation plan.
