What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Tech Summer Co-op position at Crete Carrier?
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships
- Receives and carries out instructions
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Associate degree; or one to two years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
ASE certified and DOT inspection certified as required by supervisor
EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 as required by supervisor and / or location
EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 as required by supervisor and / or location
Valid driver's license as required by supervisor, with CDL Class A driver's license preferred
Other
Must have own tools
Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) required
