Overview:
The Operations Manager will champion a positive culture of safety excellence ensuring business goals and objectives are in alignment with the overall business strategy. This role will partner and develop effective relationships with union leadership and will ensure reliable and quality driven performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a work culture that continuously focuses on a safety and is productive and MSHA compliant
  • Support the general manager in establishing annual business goals and objectives
  • Coordinate schedules and outputs
  • Support effective union relationships
  • Manage a small team of union and non-union positions (accounting, quality, and shipping)
  • Set performance measures to ensure team members are able to focus on the output and quality goals of the business
  • Create and maintain effective and collaborative customer relationships
  • Demonstrate selling skills and product knowledge to customers
  • Participate in industry and community organizations
  • Source and purchase capital equipment
  • Ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of all operating company activities
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes
  • Work closely with the Cretex Corporate Leadership team
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a mining environment
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • 3 years of sales experience
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with customers
  • Ability to collaborate with the union
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
